What personal data we collect, and why
Enquiry forms
When you submit an enquiry through our website, we collect: full name, email address, telephone number (optional), travel dates, group size, and your indicated package interest. We use this information solely to prepare a tailored safari proposal and to communicate with you about your enquiry.
Cookies
We use cookies for essential website functionality and, with your consent, for analytics. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) help us understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard web-server logs that include IP addresses, browser user-agents, and request timestamps. These logs are used for security and abuse prevention and are typically retained for up to 90 days.

- With Namibian tour suppliers (lodges, transfers, guides) when you confirm a booking, and only the data needed to deliver the service.
- With Google (analytics) and our email-delivery provider when you submit an enquiry.
- When required by Namibian or applicable law (for example, by tax authorities or the Namibia Tourism Board).
How long we keep your data
Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months from your last interaction so we can follow up if your travel plans materialise later. Booking and tax records are retained for the period required by Namibian law (typically 5 years). You can request earlier deletion at any time by emailing us.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with comparable data-protection law, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to processing or request restriction.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

How we protect your data
This site is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Form submissions are stored in the website database and forwarded to our internal email. Administrative access is restricted to authorised Alux Travel CC staff. We use a web-application firewall and active malware scanning on the server.
Data-breach procedures
If we discover a personal-data breach that is likely to result in risk to affected individuals, we will notify you and the relevant authority within the timeframes required by applicable law.
