Editorial Policy

What we publish

Alux Travel publishes editorial about Namibia safari planning — destination guides for Etosha, Sossusvlei, Damaraland, Skeleton Coast, Fish River, Caprivi, NamibRand, Lüderitz, and other regions; itinerary frameworks; budget references; and operator-side resources. The site is the commercial surface of Alux Travel CC, a Namibia Tourism Board Registered Booking Agent based in Swakopmund.

Separately, we operate etoshanationalpark.com.na, an independent editorial planning resource for Etosha National Park self-drive visitors. The editorial side is free and unbranded with our commercial identity except in disclosure footers.

Standards

• Accuracy. Numeric and named claims (fees, distances, drive times, gate hours, lodge rates, species counts) are checked against primary sources before publication: NWR for in-park bookings, MEFT for park regulations and fees, NTB for operator credentials, IUCN for species data. We update factual references quarterly.
• Independence. We are an independent booking agent. We are not affiliated with NWR or the Namibian government. We are not owned by any lodge group. We disclose our commercial interest where it is relevant to the content.
• No fabrication. We do not invent rates, fees, services, awards, credentials, reviews, or testimonials. Where review or testimonial content is present, it reflects real client feedback with attribution.
• Indicative vs firm. Pricing on this site is indicative, used for planning. Firm pricing is issued once accommodation is held with a deposit. We distinguish these explicitly in any quote we send.
• Scope honesty. We book accommodation and operator-coordinated game drives. We do not supply vehicles, fuel, or driver-guides. Where these are part of a trip, we recommend reputable Namibian suppliers but we do not invoice for them.

Editorial voice

We write in an institutional voice. The publishing entity is Alux Travel CC; named individual authorship is not used. This is a deliberate choice grounded in our position that the depth and accuracy of our content earns authority, not the personal brand of any contributor.

Updates and revisions

Pages display a “Last updated” date where relevant. Significant factual changes are noted in the page revision history. Where we discover an error, we correct it promptly and document the correction at /corrections/.

Conflict of interest

We earn a 10% coordination commission from suppliers when a booking is confirmed through us. We do not earn from page views, from reviews, or from non-commercial editorial. This commission is included in the supplier’s published rate — it is not added to the traveller’s rate. Where our recommendation might be seen as commercially influenced, we say so.
